    1- A metal or metal-headed war club, often with spikes. .. mace

    2- To be unsteady or uncertain. ..... waver

    3- A noisy, disorderly crowd. ..... rabble

    4- The end of the sleeve (of a shirt, coat etc) near the wrist. .... cuff

    5- To give (someone something that he has won or deserved). .... award

    6- A group of eight musicians, eight lines in a poem etc. ..... octet

    7- A mischievous, usually dirty or ragged, child, especially a boy. .... urchin

    8- To try to find out about something that is secret, especially other people's affairs. ... pry

    9- A room or cupboard where food is stored in a house. .... larder
