2- A rough steep mountain or rock. (r g c) 1 crag = rocher escarpé.
3- A serious illness caused by being in very hot sunshine for too long. (k s t s n r) sunstroke = insolation.
4- A platform alongside which ships are moored for loading and unloading. (r w h f) 1 wharf = quai.
5- To refuse to allow (a claim etc). (s l w d l) 3 disallow = refuser, rejeter.
6- Small and weak. (n p) 2 puny = frêle, chétif, chétive, piètre.
7- Not belonging to, or typical of, any particular time. (s l t s m) 3 timeless = intemporel.
8- A female sheep. (w) 2 ewe = brebis.
9- An apparatus worn by divers on their backs which supplies them with oxygen to breathe. (l q g n) 4 aqualung = scaphandre autonome.
