Bonjour !
Je passe mon oral d'anglais dans une semaine et je n'ai préparé qu'une notion pour le moment. Etant au CNED, je n'ai personne pour me corriger. Si vous pouvez me corriger, je serais ravie ! Je mets le texte ci-dessous :
I'm going to talk about the Idea of Progress. First of all, I would like to give a definition of this notion. The Idea of Progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change – a technical, scientific or social advance which contributes to making the world a better place. In order to illustrate this notion I have chosen to talk about the Artificial Intelligence. So, should we be afraid of the progress of the artificial intelligence ? First, we will discuss wether artificial intelligence are essential to our daily life and after that we will study the increasing role of the artificial intelligence which raises numerous fairs. To answer this question I will present two documents. The first one is a text entitled The Materializer, written by R. T. Kurosaka in 1978 and the second one is an extract from Visions of the Future, a BBC documentary in 2009.
First, we're going to see that artificial intelligence are essential to our daily life. Today, robots are not any more reserved for science fiction movies, they entered houses. If we use a GPS in our car, if we buy a book which was recommended to us on Amazon or Fnac, and if we look at a video on YouTube, then we have been already in touch whith an artificial intelligence. There are domestic robots. For instance some robots can keep the house clean thaks to algorithms to clean in autonomy. Robots could improve our life's quality. The video Visions of the Future compares the huge and expensive computer to a mobile phone of today whose microchip is the size of a fingernail. Dr Kaku explains that the growth of computing power is exponential. In the last sequence, we can see Dr Kaku sitting in an intelligent car which can drive itself. While riding along in the car without steering or pressing the accelerator. An intelligent car can probably help the driver by recognizing trraffic signs or warning drivers about road congestion. It may also improve car safety by warning the driver when the car moves out of its lane, for instance.
Now, we're going to talk about the increasing role of the artificial intelligence which also raises numerous fears. The researchers settle more and more questions because the artificial intelligence rests on the treatment and the comparison of big quantities of data which no human being could realize. In the video, the scientist explain that by 2020, intelligence will be in every object, not just in cars. Scientists think that they will be able to create robots which are able to rival human intelligence or even exceed it, in the second half of 21st century. But now, machines are not able to rival human intelligence. Indeed, in the text The materializer we can read that Ned Quinn has a lot to learn because the machine is stupid and unable of taking into account the consequences of its actions. When Ned pronounces the word Martini, the Materializer produces Martini whithout glass, which proves that the Materializer can understand what a Martini is, but it didn't think that this drink needed a drink a glass to be drunk. And when Ned pronounces Hell, which is an expression, the machine produces demons. We can understand that this machine doesn't think like humans and it doesn't interpret like us.
To conclude, today the evolution of the artificial intelligence granted man to be assisted in tasks going of the simplest to the most complex. More we move foward in time, more the new technology takes a big place in our life but what are its limits ? The question is always without answers today. We know that certain skills and capacities are required to master and properly handle these complex tecnologies. If everybody shows ability of wisdoms and benevolence, everything would be completed. Finally, maybe would we need laws to supervise the phenomenon so that we won't fall into a revolution.
Voilà j'espère que ce sera pas trop long! Merci d'avance.

Bonjour,
- I have chosen to talk about the (pas de the) Artificial Intelligence.
- So, should we be afraid of the progress of the (pas de the)artificial intelligence ?
- wether: orthographe.
- artificial intelligence are (singulier)essential

Très bon travail! Je tiens à te féliciter d'avoir produit seule, par le CNED, un travail de cette qualité, argumenté et étayé par des exemples et qui correspond aux attentes.
