Roast beef: Le roti de boeuf
one of the meats traditionally served at Sunday Dinner. The typical side dish to roast beef is Yorkshire pudding.
In Europe, the British are particularly associated with beef-eating,

Another theory for the derivation of this name is a French mockery of the English: being relatively fair in comparison to the French, they easily get sunburned, resulting in red skin.

William Shakespeare suggests a reputation of the English to gorge on beef, when in the play Henry V, before the Battle of Agincourt he has the Constable of France say:

Le mot "berry" fait partie de ce chapitre "FOOD", et il a donné des expressions relatives à la couleur:
--As brown as a berry : complètement brun, de couleur marron
Cette expression trouve son origine dans un conte faisant partie des fameux "Canterbury Tales" de Chaucer, (the Monk's Tale), 1386-1400:
